Tropical Sweetness {Juice}

I've been juicing quite a bit, well kind of A LOT. I have several reasons why I juice, which I may go into in another post. I wanted to highlight one of the juices that was part of my 5-day cleanse and as usual I have fun with my juices, hence the pineapple spear on top of my mason jar.

Ingredients: Pineapple, Carrots, Apple, Celery, Ginger

Cutting the pineapple is quite easy. Once you cut off the top, just cut around the pineapple.

All the goodness washed and cut, ready to be pulverized.

Go HaRD!

Go Hard or Go Home! It's been a motto for a while now. I link it to fitness to keep me motivated. Above is my Pinterest Board for my fitness motivation. This year unlike every other year, I am determined to lose not just a few pounds but to totally make over my body. I really want to engage myself in reintroducing myself to myself (If you get what I mean). Along with truly finding and following through with my passion, health and fitness is just one of the top priorities on my list of things to get control of. Below is MY list of why I want to transform my body from what it is now to what it will become.

  • To wear a two piece bikini or a cut out one-piece\
  • To get my belly pierced (again)
  • To have something I never had (a six pack)
  • To get that V in my pelvic area
  • Overall to be Healthy
  • To run 5K's, Half-marathons, and maybe a Marathon
The list definitely goes on and on, and perhaps may change. I think I would like to see how small I can go then perhaps tone and bulk up from there.

The body is simply an amazing creation. Of course we can thank God for that, after all we are all created in His image and He only creates Masterpieces. Now while I am on this not so easy but oh so worth it journey, I know I will hear plenty of those people that will say "Oh your weight is fine", "That's too much weight to lose" "You won't look right". And all the while I will turn deaf ears upon them and just keep climbing.

We were destined to be and do great things, so why limit myself to what fat cells try and restrain me of? Taking it one day at a time, one fruit, one vegetable, and one pound at time, I will see you guys on the beach in my two piece. I do not have anything detailed as of what my regimen will be as of yet, but do know that it will include lots of exercise and clean eating. Everyday is a new day and a new challenge; and challenges can only be met if we face them.

Go Hard!

The Green Dream - Juice

This my Friends is the Green Dream.

This was my dinner for the first night of my 5 day Cleanse. I used the recipe from here, while I was browsing through websites. It was really tasty and it included a bunch of healthy goods. I altered the recipe by adding half a lemon and ginger, and I didn't have spinach, but it was good either way.

SunDay 1 - Juice Day

I started my five day juice cleanse on Sunday, Feb 24, 2013 and ending it on Thursday, Feb 28, 2013. I want to end February with a bang and jump start March with an explosion of health. So far so good. I will be posting yesterday's juices later tonight. Hopefully, I'll be able to catch up with keeping you guys updated. Today is actually Day 3, I am feeling good. 2 more days to go.

Happy Juicing,
Divine

The First Bite: Pearl Couscous, Brussels Sprouts & Tilapia

Sunday's Dinner

So I decided to cook dinner Sunday night and lay off the juice/shakes for at least one of my meals. I started buying the frozen packs of Brussels Sprouts from Trader Joes, the Individual frozen packs of tilapia from Target and the pearl couscous from Whole Foods Market. This meal was easy to make and it satisfied my appetite and also my next day lunch meal.

The First Bite: Breakfast Egg Sandwich

Breakfast food is my favorite food in all the earth, alongside Italian dishes. I cook it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lately though, I've been cooking breakfast for dinner just because that's what I've been craving when I get home. My mom used to cook scrambled egg sandwiches when we were younger, and now as an mid-20 woman, I like to add my two or three cents into the mix. It's pretty simple and easy to make, and might I add healthy too.

Mad Dog & Beans

A couple of co-workers and I decided to head out for lunch so we can take a break away from the office and we ended up at Mad Dog & Beans. I've been here before with other co-workers and I've always enjoyed the food. The atmosphere is pretty nice and exclusive, with dimmed lights and candle's blowing. It's is right downtown in the Financial District in Hanover Sq.
